The New Orleans Pelicans traded Power Forward Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers were not cheap with what they were willing to give up in order to obtain Davis.

L.A. traded away Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round draft picks. One of the picks includes the number 4 overall pick in the upcoming draft next week.

Fans knew coming into the offseason that Davis was sought out by LeBron James and that Davis wanted to be traded out. A blockbuster trade it was too.

Lakers Get

Anthony Davis has a career field goal percentage of 51.7. He also averages 10.5 rebounds a game with 2.1 assists and 2.4 blocks per game.

LeBron and the Lakers are in a win now mentality. The Lakers gave up a lot for the 7-year vet, and still, have more to do once free agency starts.

The NBA is going to have some strong drafts in the coming years and the Pelicans will befit from this trade.

Pelicans Get

Lonzo Ball, in 2 years has a field goal percentage of 38 and averages 10 points a game. New Orleans will be a good refresher for Ball. There, he will not have as many responsibilities and will not take as much heat as he would in a major market. This trade benefits both the Pelicans and Lonzo because of his talent and him starting off fresh.

In only 52 games last year, Brandon Ingram averaged 18.3 points a game along with 5.1 rebounds and 3 assists.

Even though it is too early on to grade the trade between these two teams, the advantage has to go to New Orleans. It seems clear that Zion will be the first pick in this years draft, they also have the number 4 pick and received 3 good players. None of these players are Anthony Davis but the way Zion can break out in the NBA certainly opens up high hopes for the Pelicans and their fans.
