Braves and Dodgers Kick-off Weekend Series
With the Dodgers leading the NL, the Braves could prove to be World Series contenders with a strong showing this weekend.
The Braves are continuing their nine game homestand after a three game stretch against the Mets in which they won two of the three games. While the Mets have been one of the hottest teams in baseball, the Braves face a tougher test ahead in the Dodgers. Both teams have players who have been in the MVP conversation. Cody Bellinger for LA and Ronald Acuna Jr. for ATL (even though you could also argue in favor of Freddie Freeman).
All-Star Mike Soroka takes the mound for the Braves sporting a 10-2 record with 2.32 ERA. While the Braves won’t have to face the Dodgers aces this time around, the Dodgers pitching staff leads the majors in nearly every major pitching statistic ( 1st in ERA, 1st in WHIP, 1st in Walks allowed, 2nd in BAA and 1st in Runs Against). The Braves offense will have their work cut out for them.
