Bills Release LeSean McCoy After 4 Seasons
It was a move many experts and coaches around the league saw coming but still, it’s hard to imagine, McCoy is out in Buffalo.
With a crowed backfield, many saw this as a possibility. The Bills added Frank Gore on a low-risk contract (just a one year deal worth $2 mil), added former Rugby star Christian Wade and T.J. Yeldon, and drafted Devin Singeltary out of FAU in this year’s draft. Singletary looks to be the Bills future as he had an impressive preseason while McCoy struggled to show he has some left in the tank.
This is a little surprising considering how outspoken the Bills have been about McCoy being “The Guy.” McCoy averaged a carer low 3.2 yards per carry last season but still managed to rush for 3,814 yds in 4 seasons with Buffalo, good for 6th all-time on the Bills rushing list. The Bills save roughly $6.5 mil by releasing McCoy.
Look for a RB needy team to add McCoy for depth like the Chiefs or Texans. Stay tuned for more cuts as the day progresses.
