Intern’s Corner With Olivia: My Experience So Far
Welcome back to my corner! My name is Olivia Bucco, I am the Fall 2019 Digital Content Intern for Beasley Media Group. As I reach the end of my fourth week with Beasley Media Group, I am eager to share what I have learned so far.
In just a few short weeks I have accomplished so much. As a writer, publishing one blog post a day across six different stations was difficult at first. However, I can feel myself getting the hang of it and I can knock the posts out quicker. This is my 18th one!
After publishing my articles, I social all of them across the designated station’s platforms. I get to manage each station’s social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. I enjoy analyzing the stats from my posts and being able to figure out my audience. Doing this will surprise you, it is interesting to see what gets more clicks and what doesn’t.
In regards to creative work, I am learning quickly alongside the Digital Program Director, Alexis Zarycki. I have had a lot of fun with this position. She even let me create the entire quarter-four content calendar that gets sent to all of the other Beasley Media Group locations! Zarycki has introduced me to many inspiring people within the office. I have had the opportunity to shadow on-air talent, Vonyetta, in the Power 98 studio. Cameron Moore, on-air for Kiss 95.1 and the music director for the station, also had a lot to show me inside and out of the studio.
Thank you to everyone here at Beasley Media Group, the transition into the workplace could not have been any easier. I am thankful for this amazing experience and ready to explore deeper into my passion for creating content. Make sure to check back, a lot is coming your way within the next few weeks!
