Versatility at the Five
The Minnesota Timberwolves are in town to take on the Charlotte Hornets in their second regular-season game. The Timberwolves (1-0) beat the new-look Brooklyn Nets 127-126 on Wednesday night. The Hornets (1-0) also got a win on their opening night beating the Chicago Bulls 126-125 in a thriller. Rookie P.J. Washington led Charlotte in scoring with 27 points, including seven three-pointers. Washington’s seven makes from beyond the perimeter set a NBA record for a player making their debut.
The big story in tonight’s game is the absence of starting Center, Cody Zeller. Zeller is out tonight against Minnesota for “personal reasons” according to a Charlotte Hornets tweet from earlier today. Nic Batum is also out with a fractured finger and is expected to miss multiple weeks. Hear below what Head Coach James Borrego has to say about the versatility down low.
