Kyler’s Story at the Levine Childrens Hospital
Kyler from Taylorsville, NC. Kyler has a heart condition (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) and received a heart transplant. This is Kyler’s story.
At 5 years old, Kyler’s family discovered he was born with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (a genetic condition that caused his heart to become enlarged) and would need a heart transplant to survive. His heart had stopped 3 times he literally died each time and his medical team brought him back to life. Kyler was on the transplant list for 1 year and 3 months before they got the call from the Levine Children’s Hospital.
After his heart transplant, Kyler was only in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for 4 days Kyler’s future is bright. He is back to his normal self-riding his dirt bikes and living dangerously without fear of having another cardiac arrest (his heart-stopping). You can help other children like Kyler by donating this year during our Secret Santa event below and give back to this wonderful hospital with have within our community.
