In a shocking move, Panthers Linebacker Luke Kuechly has decided to retire from the NFL at 28 years old.
The fourth NFL player of age 30 or younger to retire in the past year, Kuechly will go down as one of the best linebackers if not the best Panthers player in team history. Over recent years, Kuechly has dealt with concussions and plenty of other nagging injuries. But with CTE being at the forefront like never before, it can't come as a complete shock to see the Panthers' linebacker hang it up. A very emotional Kuechly says his goodbyes in the video below:
Kuechly was a 5x first-team All-Pro, 7x Pro Bowler, NFL DPOY and NFL DROY while leading the NFL in tackles twice. He holds countless Panthers team records.
Kuechly will be sorely missed by players, coaches and of course the fans. Luke has been all class throughout his career in Carolina and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.
