Four Places to Shred Some Snow Close to Charlotte
The weather is cold enough (FINALLY) so it’s time to tear up the snow.

Beech Mountain Resort is located in Beech Mountain about two hours and forty minutes away from Charlotte. The 10 slopes are open until March 21st and prices range from $22 to $82. Appalachian Ski Mountain located in Blowing Rock is about two hours away from Charlotte and open until March 22nd, 2020. Rental rates start from$13 to $42 and Lift rates are $19 to $72. There is a lodge on-site with restaurants and more. Great places to stay nearby include the Chetola Resort Lodge, Holiday Inn Express Bowling Rock, and Highland Hills Motel and Cabins to name a few. Give me some Sugar, at the Sugar Mountain Resort that is. Located only about two hours and twenty minutes away from Charlotte, there are twentyone amazing slopes you can explore and snow tubing! Ready to ski and maybe stop for a gamble? Only 30 minutes away from the Cherokee Casino, the Cataloochee Ski Area is located in Maggie Valley about three hours from Charlotte. Rental rates start around $33 for the day and lift rates start at $32 to $86. (If you bundle you can save more!) Maybe you want to shred the snow in a tube? Well, it’s only $25. I love the drive up to Cherokee and if you want to make a nice weekend of it, some places to stay are Smokey Falls Lodge, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort or the Mountain Creek Cabin.
