Good News From Second Harvest Food Bank
In the midst of what seems like constant bad news, Second Harvest Food Bank is updating their supporters with some good news from the local community. Read below what they have been up to and get more info here
Caring for Seniors:
· Supplying seniors, perhaps the most vulnerable population during this outbreak, with nutritional food boxes.
Caring for Children Out of School:
· Sending out thousands of additional backpacks of food each week to children in our communities.
· Expanding opportunities for families to pick up food boxes, fresh produce, meat, and dairy products at drive through distributions.
Caring for Individuals Impacted Through Loss of Work / Business Cut-Backs:
· Helping our 800+ partner agencies care for working individuals by assisting them with food supplies and other services as needed. For information on food pantries, click here.
Caring for Our Families Visiting Food Pantry Partners and Food Distributions:
· Recommending best practices to partner agencies for food distribution to include a drive-thru, grab-n-go model to minimize congregating and emphasize “no contact.”
