GM To Open Army Production Facility in Concord
A new U.S. Army vehicle production facility will have its grand opening on Tuesday in Concord. The facility will be run by a subsidiary of General Motors called GM Defense LLC.
Several U.S. Senators including Thom Tillis, Richard Burr, Richard Hudson, and Ted Budd are scheduled to attend the opening.
The facility will produce Infantry Squad Vehicles known as ISV for the U.S. Army. These vehicles, based on the Chevy Colorado truck, are able to transport nine soldiers at a time. They are described as being agile and easy to transport- fitting inside of a CH-47 helicopter.
What an honor it is to have this facility nearby!
