June 9th is Dark N' Stormy Day. Have you ever had or made this classic cocktail?
According to Wikipedia a "Dark ’n’ Stormy is a highball cocktail made with dark rum and ginger beer served over ice and garnished with a slice of lime." It often also features Lime juice and simple syrup. The drink is very similar to the Moscow mule however it uses dark rum in place of vodka. Yum! Want to celebrate? Here's how to make the perfect Dark N' Stormy!
Dark N' Stormy Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Dark Rum Goslings is recommended
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- ice
- 1 candied ginger slice
- 3oz chilled ginger beer
- 1 slice lime
Directions:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the rum and lime juice and shake well.
- Strain into an ice-filled collins glass.
- Stir in the ginger beer.
- Skewer the ginger slice and lime wheel and garnish the cocktail.
