Check Those Labels Johnson And Johnson Issues A Sunscreen Recall
Have you stocked up on sunscreen recently? Better check those labels. It’s recommended that you slather yourself up with sunscreen, but maybe not ALL sunscreen. I am one who will get severely burnt if I don’t continuously pile on the SPF 50. If you’re anything like me this is news you need to read. Johnson & Johnson has announced a recall of five sunscreen products due to “low levels of benzene” in samples. All recalled sunscreens are aerosol or “spray” types.
Recalled Sunscreens:
- Neutrogena’s Beach Defense
- Neutrogena’s Cool Dry Sport
- Neutrogena’s Invisible Daily Defense
- Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer
- Aveeno’s Protect + Refresh lines
Turns out I have several of these in my pool bag. Time for a Target run to find some replacements! In a statement, Johnson & Johnson said, “Out of an abundance of caution, we are recalling all lots of these specific aerosol sunscreen products…While benzene is not an ingredient in any of our sunscreen products, it was detected in some samples of the impacted aerosol sunscreen finished products.” Benzene is thought to cause cancer. Be sure to check your labels for any Johnson and Johnson sunscreen impacted by the recall.
