A Small Earthquake Shook Morganton This Morning
Did you feel it? A small earthquake coming in at a 2.7 magnitude hit western North Carolina this morning. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred just north of Morganton. Some residents reportedly felt a slight shake around 9:15 this morning, though it’s rare to feel an earthquake less than a 3 magnitude. It is more likely to be felt if you are sitting down. Did you feel the quake? If so the USGS encourages you to report it on their website. At this time no damage has been reported.
