Detroit Style Emmy Squared Pizza Coming To Plaza Midwood

Good news Charlotte! A new Detroit style pizza and burger restaurant called Emmy Squared Pizza is coming to Plaza Midwood.  They will open their doors early next month at 1508 Central Ave. The official opening date is not yet announced. Their menu features Detroit-style square pizzas that are similar in style to Sicilian. It's deep dish pizza with cheese baked on the sides, and sauce applied after it's baked. Pizzas are available in red and white sauce varieties. Their menu also features appetizers such as mozzarella sticks and roaster cauliflower, salads, sandwiches, and the Le Big Matt burger. Emmy Squared is a chain with locations in New York, New Jersey, Tennesee, Kentucky, among other places. This will be their first North Carolina location but plans are in place to open a restaurant in Durham later this fall.
