Drug-Filled Football Thrown Towards North Carolina Prison
It sounds like something out of a movie or a tv show. But somehow this is real life. A drug-filled football was thrown toward a North Carolina prison however it didn’t get all the way there. The defense, or in this case prison workers, intercepted the pass. It was directed towards the Morrison Correctional Institution in Hoffman, NC. Hoffman, located in Richmond County, is home to the medium-security prison. It’s about 80 miles east of the Charlotte area.
The N.C Department of Public Safety posted a photo on Sunday describing the incident. Inside the football was tobacco and marijuana as well as a tennis ball filled with meth according to The News & Observer. It was thrown into the prison but landed between two fences. The inmate the ball was thrown to was investigated and found to not be in possession of any drugs. So far no one has been charged in this incident, however, an investigation is taking place into who threw the drug-filled football.
