A New Recording Studio Recently Opened In A Gastonia Mall
So you want to be in the music industry? Many people have that dream. But once you realize the goal that what do you do next? Figuring that out that step can be challenging. Not to mention there are a lot of people that will happily take your money to “help” but those results you’ll probably never see. But good news North Carolina there is a new local resource aimed at helping aspiring local artists. The new recording studio opened in Gastonia at Eastridge Mall in October. Legacy Music aims to provide local artists access to a recording studio, photography, and other multimedia services to help them succeed in the industry. You can find Legacy Music on the second floor of the mall near Belk.
Nathaniel Jones is the founder of the company which features multiple vocal recording booths, rehearsal space, podcasting setups, space to hold educational workshops and events, and a photography studio. Jones told WRAL “We want to highlight more artists in the Carolinas and bring a family-friendly place for artists to collaborate.”
Fees to use the space is around $60 to $100 an hour. Exact fees vary depending on the services requested and most media services require a two-hour minimum.
“We want to give people more reasons to come to the mall other than just to shop,” Jones told WRAL. He worked out of Atlanta in various aspects of the music industry while also keeping his ‘day-job’ in property management. It was that job that brought Jones and his family to Gastonia- an opportunity to manage Eastridge Mall. The family relocated here in 2007. After his son expressed interest in music Jones set out to look for studio space. And long story short the idea for Legacy Studios was born.
Construction began on the recording studio in Gastonia 11 months ago. Jones hopes that it will serve as a safe, family-friendly environment for young and older artists.
