It’s one of my favorite expressions in the game of golf. “Take Dead Aim.” Harvey Penick is the legendary coach who I feel coined it. I love it so much, I named my radio show/podcast after it years ago. Aim is one of the most basic things in golf. It is also one of the things I see screwed up more than anything else. Get your aim right, you’ll at least know that if the ball doesn’t go there, it has something to do with what you’re doing with your swing, not where you’re pointed.
Simple, right? Next week as we continue our “basics from the ground up,” we’ll be discussing one of the few things in golf that translates to and from other sports: a pre-shot routine. See ya then!
