For 5.5 years we lived and worked in Augusta, Georgia.  In case there's someone reading this who doesn't know, Augusta is the home of "The Masters."  It is arguably the most famous and prestigious professional golf tournament in the world.  The Masters is conducted at and by The Augusta National Golf Club.

Their method of ticket distribution is unique, to say the least.  Without going into too much detail, it is historically one of the most sought-after tickets in sports, and hard to come by.  I've seen 4-day tournament badges sell for as much as $30,000.  I know, you can exhale now.  So, I've been around expensive sports tickets.  That being said, the ticket prices being fetched for tomorrow night's UNC vs. Duke game are eye-opening.

Look, this is ALWAYS a hot ticket, but this year you have the added attraction of this being Coach K's curtain call. Everyone wants a final chance to see Mike Krzyzewski coach in person one last time in this historic rivalry before one of the greatest of all time retires. According to a report from Front Office Sports, the cheapest ticket right now is just north of $3,500 and the average ticket price is around $5,400. Duke's home court, Cameron Indoor Stadium (where the game will be held) has a very low maximum capacity of 9,314.
