World-Class Pickleball Complex Coming To Charlotte
If pickleball isn’t America’s fastest-growing sport, it has to be close. It seems like everywhere I go, people are either playing pickleball or talking about playing pickleball. And if you thought pickleball was only for senior citizens, think again.
While pickleball is extremely popular in retirement communities, it’s also being played by people of all ages at YMCAs, rec centers, parks, and anywhere else you can put up a net. Soon, the easy-to-learn paddle sport will have its own world-class facility in Charlotte’s Lower South End.
WCNC-TV reports that a new eight-court pickleball complex called Rally is being built at the corner of Old Pineville Road and Southside Drive in LoSo. It’s the company’s first location and will include two buildings with four indoor courts, a full-service restaurant, bars, as well as space for private events. Four more pickleball courts will be outside.
One of Rally’s owners, Megan Charity, is a world-ranked competitor on the pro pickleball circuit. She’ll be designing and leading programs for players of all skill levels. Charity and co-owner Barrett Worthington also plan to open similar pickleball facilities in other southeastern and Mid-Atlantic cities. The Charlotte location is expected to open in early 2023.
The complex called Rally will have two buildings with a total of 27,650 square feet of indoor space. https://t.co/HPcNW0qNN7
