Ric Flair Announces Final Wrestling Bout
If you grew up in the Charlotte area, then you KNOW who Ric Flair is! Even if you’re not a fan of wrestling, you’re probably familiar with the larger-than-life personality. Sadly, Ric Flair aka “The Nature Boy” has announced his final professional wrestling bout at the age of 73.
Since I was a kid I’ve been familiar with Ric Flair. Not only because I grew up in this area, but also because I grew up with three brothers. One of them was a HUGE fan of Flair’s which is how I ended up on the wrong end of his signature move “the figure four” often. My younger brother would beg me to let him practice that move on me when we were kids. Good times!
The Facts
Wrestling was on every Saturday at my house in the late 70s and early 80s. I remember when Flair beat Dusty Rhodes “The American Dream” in the early 80s for his first NWA World Heavyweight Championship belt. I also remember the Anderson Brothers hooking up with Flair to create “The Four Horsemen” along with Tully Blanchard.
If you’re a Flair fan and/or a wrestling fan you can see him fighting in the ring one last time. According to WCNC, he’s announced his final bout. It’ll be in Nashville on July 31, 2022.
I’ve been to multiple wrestling events live and they’re a good time! And I’ll admit that seeing Flair wrestle one last time would be cool. He’s been at the sport for almost 50 years. Flair’s cockiness and arrogance made him a spectacular “character” in the wrestling world. I don’t even want to get started on all his awesome catchphrases! I’m sure he’ll give the crowd one last “Wooooooo!” and they’ll eat it up!
The Rumors Are True! I’m Going To Walk That Aisle, Style And Profile, One Last Time! July 31st! Nashville, Tennessee! Jim Crockett Promotions!
