South Carolina Home to One of the Top 5 Deadliest Roads in America
Well, we all complain about drivers on the road here and there. But, sometimes it’s the actual roads that are a complete mess. From holes in the concrete, rough patches, and random turns, it can be a lot to drive in some areas of the country. Many of us spend hundreds of hours a year in our cars and on the roads. It’s one of those things that can be very simple or completely traumatic every time you get behind the wheel. Although the United States is home to some of the best roads around the world, we also have some of the most deadliest and dangerous roads there are.
The Report
Find By Plate conducted a study to determine the deadliest roads in America. The report that more than 40,000 people die in car crashes each and every year. Of course, some of these accidents are caused due to the driver behind the wheel but not every time is that the case. Some roads throughout the country are the cause of these accidents as well. Many of these roads can be very hazardous and dangerous for anyone to be driving on, making the risk of an accident even greater. Unfortunately, South Carolina has been deemed home to one of the top 5 deadliest roads in the country. According to this list, US Route 17 in South Carolina is the No. 5 deadliest road in America. On this stretch, drivers can expect to see wildlife crossing, sharp turns, sudden curves, and narrow lanes.
That’s not all! North Carolina may not have been in the top 10, but we are also home to one of the country’s most deadliest roads. Coming in at No. 19 is I-26 which stresses between South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
