North Carolina City One of the Worst to Live Without a Car in the U.S.

Ever contemplated giving up your car? You may want to second guess that depending on where you live. Many people are recognizing that gas is truly an added expense. The price of gas and how much you may spend in gas each month can be ridiculous! That’s also why many people are switching over to electric cars. Charging a car instead of having to pay for gas can be quite beneficial.

On the other hand, there are some cities where owning a car may not be the best idea. It is nice to be able to live somewhere where you can rely on public transportation and not have to worry. Spend time on the train, subway, taxi, bus, or even walk! If you live somewhere like that, then owning a car may not be a necessity for you. Now, North Carolina is not home to any of those types of cities. Actually, North Carolina is home to one of the worst cities to live in without a car. Money Inc. collected a list of 20 of the worst cities to live in without a car. Coming in at No. 20 for North Carolina is the Queen City itself, Charlotte. Yeah, Charlotte is one of the worst places to live without a car. With limited public transportation and the spread-out area, it only makes sense to own a car in Charlotte. How else would you be able to enjoy the fun things that Charlotte has to offer?

This North Carolina Town Was Named Among US News Best Coastal Small Towns

There are few things I love more than historic coastal towns. Whether the New England charm of Newport Rhode Island, the southern hospitality of Charleston or Savannah, or a classic California beach town like Santa Cruz. Fishing boats, quaint shops, beachside rollercoasters, live oaks, I love them all. So naturally, this list drew me in. It’s USA Today’s “Best Coastal Small Towns”.  And one North Carolina coastal small town was actually featured on the list.

This list is part of USA Today’s recently released “10 best” campaign. Readers were able to vote for their favorites in a wide variety of categories. One of those categories was “Best Coastal Small Towns”. I’ve never ventured to the Outer Banks, the home of North Carolinas mention. But this town often gets a lot of love. In fact, it was also included in last year’s iteration of this list. I guess I’ll have to add it to my North Carolina bucket list.  But not just the Carolina towns drew me in. I’d honestly love to visit each town on this list. The picturesque views, calmness of the water, but also diversity of locales and experiences of every town are intriguing.  You’ve got locations from the northeast, west coast, gulf, and the east coast.
