The North Carolina Community Foundation is working on ways to help Western North Carolina in the long run by setting up a disaster relief fund to assist. They are working with groups that are working to address immediate health, humanitarian and safety needs in western North Carolina. Hurricane Helene has taken a toll on Western North Carolina and left many of the Carolina cities devastated and picking up the pieces.

The recovery for North Carolina is expected to be for the next few months and potentially years with the amount of damage caused by Hurricane Helene. NCCF is accepting donations through their Disaster Relief Fund to help with mid to long term relief efforts throughout North Carolina.

The fund will provide grants to nonprofit and charitable organizations working to support communities in western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.

If you would like to donate, you can donate by visiting the website or mailing a check to NCCF at 3737 Glenwood Ave., Suite 460, Raleigh, NC 27612. Write “Disaster Relief” on the memo line of your check.
