Carolina Pharmacy is raising awareness for local area pharmacies. It is time to show your support.
Did you know that pharmacists are among the most trusted working professionals in the United States? They play a crucial leading role in consumer health and wellness, yet many people are unaware of the depth of pharmacists’ medical expertise or the vast variety of services that pharmacies provide. October is American Pharmacists Month, a celebration of pharmacists’ commitment to their profession and their contributions to improving medication use and advancing patient care in all practice settings.
Independent pharmacists are pharmacists who work for small, locally-owned pharmacies operated by small business owners, often pharmacists themselves, who live in the same communities that they serve. Available for in-depth personalized consultations with customers in person, they offer broad drug expertise on a range of topics. And with the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of independent pharmacists in supporting the health needs of local communities has become more important than ever.
“As local independent pharmacists, it is our duty to provide education and accessibility to reasonably priced medications in order to support and advocate for the health and wellness of our patients and our community,” says Chirag “Chi” Patel, co-founder of Carolina Pharmacy, a Charlotte-based independent pharmacy with locations in Charlotte, Rock Hill, and Lancaster. “We give back to our communities and support small businesses because, without our neighbors, we wouldn’t exist.”
Here are 8 reasons Carolina Pharmacy urges you to support local independent pharmacists during American Pharmacists Month and beyond.
