5 Ideas for Father’s Day in North Carolina
June 17th will be here sooner than you know it, which means its almost time to do something extra special for that special guy. We’re talking about dad, of course, so we’ve made a list of five different activities to make your Father’s Day weekend a memorable one.
1. Take a trip to the zoo! The one and only North Carolina Zoo is the perfect place to spend the day with dad! With monkeys, tigers, beers and everything in between, you and your dad will have a great time celebrating and making everlasting memories.
2. Pack a lunch and spend the day at DuPont State Forest. Enjoy a hike, swim and then finish up at one of their picnic areas for a bite to eat as you enjoy this beautiful environment with dad. Tip: Be sure to tell your Pops that this state park forest was used to shoot scenes from the 1992 film The Last of the Mohicans as well as the 2012 box office hit The Hunger Games.
3. Spend the day traveling back in time with dad at the NC Museum of History. With a World War I exhibit, the Story of North Carolina and North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, there is plenty of stuff for you and your father to reminisce about.
4. If you are in the Queen City, head out to the 2018 Father’s Day Festival. With vendors, crafts, games, displays, food, and even a bouncy house for the kids, this place is the ultimate dad playground. This event also serves as a donation drive for The Men’s Shelter of Charlotte.
5.How about a Father’s Day Hot Cruise! Treat Dad to a spectacular 90-minute cruise on the beautiful Cape Fear River. Sit back, relax and enjoy the wondrous scenery and afternoon breeze this Father’s Day; complete with catered hot dogs.
