Could Ronald Acuña Jr. Join The 40-40 Club?
THIS JUST IN! Ronald Acuña is very good at baseball. He’s been on a hot streak and no one can seem to cool him down.
Right now, Acuña is raking. This month he’s batting .325 with 11 HR 23 RBI and 4 stolen bases. Overall, he’s batting .296 with 36 HR 88 RBI and 29 Stolen bases, with 34 games to go. The way Acuna has been playing, it looks like a safe bet that he can rack up at least 4 more home runs and 11 more stolen bases.
Only 4 other players in MLB history have joined the 40-40 club and none of them have done it twice. Jose Canseco, Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds, and Alfonso Soriano. That’s pretty good company. The only player to win the MVP in his 40-40 season was Canseco. Let’s hope Acuña keeps up this historical season, the braves are going to need it come October.
