Riverboat Ron Sets Sail to Washington
The Washington Redskins and former Panthers coach Ron Rivera had reportedly come to terms on a five-year contract.
Rivera, who was let go by the Panthers earlier this season was clearly going to be one of the most sought after head coaches looking forward to next season.
The Ron Rivera deal is done. He has reached an agreement to become the new coach of the Redskins, according to a source familiar with negotiations. @AroundTheNFL @nflnetwork

During Rivera’s nine-year tenure with the Panthers, the team went 76-63-1 and reached the Super Bowl in 2015. He was also won Coach of the year in 2015 as well.
The Washington Redskins finished out their season 3-13 and last in the NFC East. Rivera will move into Washington looking at Dwayne Haskins as his starting quarterback.
Can Rivera help turn this team around?
