Just like the days before and the ones to come, the history is weird, a little scary and we’ve got a list of them for you to enjoy. Knowing major past events is important to understand how we live life today and I’ve got some rather freaky facts for you to explore.

Seeing what happened in the past fascinates me. You might think I’m weird, but I find history interesting because of the weird and scary things that happen. • Italy Beauty Pageant for Nuns

  This blows my mind but it's also so cool. On August 25th, 2008 an Italian priest announced plans for a beauty pageant for nuns. He requested nuns to send his pictures so that he could post them on the internet so that people could vote for them. Yup, not making this up. However, the priest's plans were canceled only one day after the announcement because of criticism from his superiors.

• Neil Armstrong Passes Away

  On August 25th, 2012 an American hero passes away. US Astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, died at the age of eighty-two after complications from heart surgery. Armstrong had recently won the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian award, and was described as a reluctant hero.

  Mexico train crash: Five dead from 'La Bestia' accident occured. On August 25th, 2013 there was a terrible train crash in Mexico. At least five people died after a cargo train was derailed and then crashed in Southern Mexico. It carried Central American migrants bound for the U.S. There were also 35 other injuries, including several serious ones. There was also an unknown number of people trapped.
• Kiss and Make Up Day

  Pucker up, baby. August 25th is national kiss and make-up day! Are you in a fight with your lover? End it! Slap a big old wet lickery kiss on them and start off fresh. On this day, we forgive each other for past wrongs and renew our friendships, family ties, or romances. On this day, you should work on repairing relationships with your loved ones. This is a day to call your estranged brother, sister, parents, or old friend.

  One of my favorite directors of all time celebrates a birthday today. On August 25th, 1958 film director Tim Burton was born. He is best known for quirky horror and fantasy films such as 'Beetlejuice', 'Edward Scissorhands', and 'Nightmare Before Christmas'. He also directed two of my favorite films, 'Sleepy Hollow' and the guilty pleasure 'Mars Attacks'. He is 63 today.
