400,000+ Covid Tests Recalled Due To High False-Positive Rate
Have you purchased at-home COVID-19 tests lately? If so you might want to check to see what you purchased. Ellume, the maker of some of the tests has issued a recall on the covid tests due to high instances of false-positive rates. This means that people were resting positive for the virus even though they are not infected.
While Ellume is an Australian-based company, the tests were sold in the US between April and August of this year. You can find a list on their website of the lot numbers on test packages affected by the recall. Of the 427,000 tests that are involved in the recall around 200,000 still haven’t been used. Customers who used one of the tests and got a positive result within the last two weeks are in the process of being contacted by the company and should be retested.
