Sweet Tooth Leads To Sweeter Jackpot For North Carolina Woman
A North Carolina woman’s sweet tooth has paid off. According to the NC Education Lottery, Diana Chabrier was craving pie on the night of Saturday, April 9th, which led her to a Food Lion supermarket in Franklinton, about 30 miles north of Raleigh.
Here’s where the story takes an unexpected turn. The kind of pie Diana was looking for was out of stock…so she got a lottery ticket instead. While that might not make any sense, it ended up being the right move.
The $30 200X The Cash lottery ticket Diana bought at the Food Lion turned out to be better than any pie she could have purchased or even baked herself, as she won a whopping $100,000. Diana says she intends to put her jackpot towards bills, and to get the pie she wanted.
What kind of pie was Diana looking for on her Saturday night dessert run? “I can’t say the name of the pie, or it will sell out,” she laughed. We may never know.
