Famous North Carolina Mansion One of the Most Real Haunted Houses in America

As October approaches and fall kicks off, spooky season is upon us. If there is one thing I enjoy, it’s anything scary or haunted. I enjoy everything from haunted houses to ghost movies, it’s just fun! Well, did you know in North Carolina we’ve got one of the most haunted houses in America? Sounds insane, right?

According to Travel + Leisure, the Biltmore Estate in Asheville is one of America’s most real haunted houses. If you have ever been, then maybe you would agree to this one. I personally have never been to the estate, but I have driven past it. It does make sense for it to be haunted I mean, it is a very old estate for sure. George Washington Vanderbilt II built the vacation home in the 1800s. Now, it is one of the most haunted places in North Carolina and the country.

Nothing too insane has occurred at the estate yet, but there have been many paranormal reports over the years. Guests report various paranormal activities occurring throughout the years after Vanderbilt died in 1914. Reports of hearing a woman’s voice calling out his name and ghostly apparitions. These plus the fact the old estate has hidden passageways and doors add more to the creep factor. So, who is down to take a tour of the estate this October?

One North Carolina Haunted House Titled Scariest In The U.S.

Believe it or not, we are almost halfway through September already, which means some folks are already thinking about how to get their spook on this Halloween. Well, there are plenty of places around the country that offer the Haunted House experience and now a new report reveals the best ones out there, and when they’ll be opening this year.

Hauntworld Magazine, the world’s largest directory of haunted houses and horror attractions, has come out with its list of the Top 13 Scariest Haunted Houses in the U.S. Houses on the list “promise thrill seekers the ultimate scream-filled experiences at every turn.” Topping the list is Pennhurst Asylum in Spring City, Pennsylvania, just 45 minutes from Philadelphia. Visitors get to explore a huge campus of monolithic abandoned buildings, through dark and twisted paths and catwalks. Pennhurst is known for its paranormal activity so it encourages visitors to explore and investigate. It opens on 9/24.
