South Carolina Home to Some of the Lowest Real Estate Taxes in the U.S.
Tax season is amongst us! It’s sometimes what everyone is talking about around you. Whether they already filed and got their refund or they’re pushing it back, because they’re nervous they might have to owe something. Regardless, it’s on everyone’s mind at some point during these months. Another side to that is real estate taxes. Some states are far cheaper than others to be able to own a home. From the taxes to the median home cost, they vary quite a bit from state to state.
The Motley Fool is listing some of the states with the lowest real estate taxes in the U.S. That’s right, low real estate tax. How beautiful is that? Now, don’t get too excited because only one Carolina made the top 10. South Carolina is the No. 6 state with low real estate taxes in the U.S. In South Carolina, the real estate tax for a home is 0.58% of the home’s value. The No. 1 state is Hawaii with a real estate tax percentage of 0.29% of the home’s value. Now, that’s a blessing for sure! Now, although South Carolina’s real estate tax is quite low we can see that number increase when it comes to vehicle tax. Guess it’s a bit of give and take when it comes to this whole tax thing.
