Are you a fan of beaches and islands? There are plenty of islands throughout the country and even across the world. From the many islands in the Caribbean area, plus those on the other side of the world. We have so many beautiful islands for people to enjoy and embrace whenever they need. Lucky for us, one of the best islands in the country is only a short drive away.

Travel + Leisure knows how to find some of the best travel destinations across the country. And finding a great island for you to enjoy is no different. They gathered a list of some of the best islands in America and one of our favorites not only made the list but came in at #2. Their readers voted for some of the best islands in the country for their overall value. Coming in at #2 is a South Carolina staple, Kiawah Island. Kiawah Island is just southwest of Charleston and is a very beautiful island to explore. The area is popular for golfers, vets, or rookies. There are also beautiful resorts and homes for you to enjoy during your stay. The Kiawah Island Golf Resort on the island is one of the best resorts in the country, as well.

As someone from Charleston, I have been to Kiawah Island before and there are some great things to do. You can relax at a spa, do some dolphin sightings, visit a nature center, and so much more.
