There is weird stuff going on every day. Those are the things that make life interesting. October is the month of all things spooky so all month long we are bringing you the scariest facts we can find.

Seeing what happened in the past fascinates me. You might think I’m weird, but I find history interesting because of the weird and scary things that happen. Here are 5 of the weirdest and scariest facts for October 7th.

• Far Side Of the Moon

  On October 7th, 1959 we got to see the far side of the Moon for the 1st time! This was courtesy of USSR's Luna 3 space probe.

• Simon Cowell’s Birthday!

  You my friend, are a genius. He finds incredible talent and has given us shows such as 'American Idol', 'America's Got Talent', and 'The X Factor'...It's Simon Cowell's birthday today! On October 7th, 1959 Simon was born in London, England. He turns 62 today.

• National Bath Tub Day

  Grab your rubber ducky, because it is time to scrub a dub-dub in a tub. October 7th is National Bath Tub Day! Some sources claim that the first modern bathtub was invented in 1828. Bathtubs can be either built-in, sunken, or free-standing, and many are made from bonding porcelain enamel on cast iron which was a process that was started all the way back in the 1880s.
• Train Crash Cuba

  On October 7th, 2007 there was a terrible train crash in Cuba. Some twenty-eight people died after a train and a bus crashed. Over seventy people were also injured in the incident.

• CATS on Broadway

  Meow! On October 7th of 1982, the famous musical "Cats" opened at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway. The show ran for a total of 7,485 performances in New York before ending on September 10th of 2000.
