82 Year Old Lottery Winner Still Won’t Quit His Job
Some people just love to work. I think unless I had the money to be constantly traveling, I would probably still work at least part-time even if I won big. I’m just not a “relax and do nothing” kind of person. And it sounds like the same could be said about lottery winner Vicente Mosquera. The 82-year-old just won $285,316 in the Virginia Lottery but he’s not planning to quit his day job. In fact, he told lottery officials he was going straight to work after claiming his winnings.
The Virginia Beach resident works as a waiter at a local Italian restaurant, according to lottery officials. And he loves it.
Mosquera’s winnings came off of a Cash 5 with EZ Match lottery ticket purchased at the Food Lion on Sandbridge Road in Virginia Beach, VA. He matched all five winning numbers, which won him the jackpot in the April 23 drawing. He played the numbers — 19-23-30-33-38 — which was a combination that someone had “told him years ago,” according to a press release. The odds of matching all five numbers in the Cash 5 with EZ Match are 1 in 749,398, says the Virginia Lottery.
