Isn’t it strange that Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day fell on the same day this year? Regardless, we’re into Lent, and that means it’s time for some fish fry fun. I was a pescatarian for a long time and always loved Friday fish fries. Now, I’m a vegetarian, so I can’t enjoy the actual fish, but I can sure have some of the fixings. So, where do you find the best fish fry spots in North Carolina and South Carolina?
Who better to ask than Eat This, Not That? The site often publishes lists on the best foods in different areas. Now, they have a list out about the best seafood restaurants in America. If it’s a great seafood restaurant, you know they have a fantastic fish fry. “From hole-in-the-wall locations to fine dining fare, this list goes to show that good seafood can fit every budget,” Eat This, Not That states.
So, where do you find the best fish fries in North Carolina and South Carolina? In North Carolina, it’s Maine Lobstah Shack in Surf City. “This hole-in-the-wall eatery is a Wilmington hotspot among locals and visitors alike,” the publication states. As for South Carolina, it’s 167 Raw in Charleston. “What started as a small wholesale seafood company started in 1978 has grown to be an icon in the Charleston food scene,” they explain. “Known for their assortment of fresh oysters, 167 Raw also serves up mouthwatering dishes like lobster tostada tacos and a rotating fish of the day.”
It’s worth noting that Mashed.com recently put out a list of the best fish fries in America. Sadly, they didn’t highlight any spots in North or South Carolina. What a bummer.
