Dance and Be Fit with These Five Class Options in the Queen City
Gym time isn’t for everyone. Some of us just want to DANCE!
Well, now it’s time to get on your body moving. If you are a dancer at heart (like me) and want to get fit in a fun way, Charlotte has a few unique options for adult dance workout classes. From ballet classes to even pole dancing fitness, check out these suggestions below. Maybe you’ll find attending one class will be just what you need for a healthier you in 2020.
1. MoveStudio Charlotte is a one-stop-shop for pilates, dance, barre, yoga and more located in the Plaza Midwood area. I love how this location only allows 12 people per class so everyone is given the right amount of attention they need.
2. Girls (and guys) can work it with PoleFit Carolinas. Rated the #1 Pole Fitness Studio in Charlotte Area, they offer a ton of different levels of pole classes, yoga, stretch, cardio and more. You can do a 3-Month Membership or jump on the pole for a selective class. What I like about this class is if you aren’t comfortable on a pole, they even have non-pole classes you can take. I’ve heard from a lot of people that pole dancing is a killer upper body workout.
3. Open Door Studios: Located in the heart of historic Plaza Midwood, Open Door Studios provides a unique offering of adult and youth dance and fitness classes. You can drop-in or purchase a class pass to attend classes like ballet, tap and modern dance. You can see adult classes here. I love the idea of getting back to my dance roots and technique classes.
4. The Jam CLT is a fun dance-inspired fitness company founded in 2016. It provides fitness classes in the Greater Charlotte area and stands on a mission to promote confidence, health and a sense of community through our cutting-edge dance classes. YOu can see the class schedule here.
5.Hip-hop fan? NC Dance District is a member or drop-in dance studio that is a hip-hop studio. Their mission is to create countless opportunities for dancers to train, perform & live out their dreams. You can attend a drop-in class for only $15.
A fun way to take some of these classes is by joining Class Pass which is an online monthly membership to over
30,000 fitness studios and gyms around the world. I found a really cool deal for 2020 that allows you to start 2020 with one month of free workouts.
