Did you see this? A Charlotte home went viral on TikTok! The Charlotte real estate market, like so much of the rest of the country, is absolutely nuts. Between rental companies buying up properties, to houses selling in a weekend with multiple offers all above asking price, and just crazy prices all around. My parents recently sold a house and got 10 offers. All but one were from a rental company. Families and those moving to the area are struggling to find homes to live in. And the rent is skyrocketing all over Charlotte. Mine went up $200 when I renewed my lease. It’s not sustainable.

But that’s why I was so shocked to see this home-buying saga play out on TikTok. A Charlotte realtor named Maceon McCracken often posts on the social media platform houses she is selling or showing. A few weeks ago she posted a video of a home in Plaza Midwood. The home has 3 bedrooms and 1 bath and comes in at 1,784 square feet. It clearly has been updated, is in a great location, and is adorable. The home was listed for $585,000. A steep price, but in this market in that neighborhood, it’s not surprising. Maceon’s client was extremely interested in the home. So they put together what they thought was a very good offer. Only to be told by the listing agent that they “weren’t even close”.

All of this was shown on TikTok, but we just got an update. She posted what the Charlotte home sold for on TikTok, and boy did it go viral. In fact, as of June 22nd more than 1.7 million people have viewed her video. So what did the home actually sell for? Watch her video (below) to find out!
