LIVE BLOG: 2024 Masters Final Round Coverage at Augusta National

Sunrises and sunsets just look a little different at Augusta National.

There’s nothing quite like Sunday at Augusta National Golf Club, where The Masters Final Round is almost a surreal, reverent experience.

As we dive into the last 18 holes of play for the 2024 edition of the greatest tournament in golf, there’s a lot to look forward to.

The top of our leaderboard is crowded, with Scottie Scheffler (-7), Collin Morikawa (-6), Max Homa (-5), Ludvig Aberg (-4) and Bryson DeChambeau (-3) all in striking distance.

Honestly, if the course played anything like it did yesterday, the golfers at 2-under or 1-under might even be in play. Throw up a good number and hope for the best.

Follow along all day as we look for the interesting moments from the Masters Final Round. Thanks for being a part of our coverage this week. It’s been a treat to bring it to you.

  • 7:05 p.m. - Scheffler Does It Again

    Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler, who has won his second Green Jacket with a final-round 68.

  • 6:15 p.m. - Signing Off

    As Scottie Scheffler looks to be well poised to win The Masters, we’re signing off so we can complete some of the rest of our coverage. If anything crazy happens, we’ll be back.

  • 5:30 p.m. - And Then There Was 1

    Well, so much for that. Max Homa just doubled the 12th to fall to 5-under.

    That’s three shots back of Scottie Scheffler, who did bogey 11, but with a three-shot cushion, looks fairly inevitable for his second Green Jacket now.

  • 5:15 p.m. - Down to Two

    Barring something crazy, this Masters is down to two players. Scottie Scheffler and Max Homa.

    Scheffler had another fantastic shot to get his lead up to 2 at 9-under through 10.

    And Ludvig Aberg fell off with a shot into the drink on 11. He finished with a double bogey on the hole, and is now 5-under.

    Homa sits two shots back, trying to hang on, as he parred the 11th. Collin Morikawa is back at 5-under.

  • 4:45 p.m. - Morikawa Tamed by 9

    The ninth hole saw another wild swing.

    First, Scottie Scheffler hit an incredible approach shot just inches from the hole. His birdie gave him the solo lead back at 8-under.

    And Collin Morikawa found trouble all over the hole, ending in a double-bogey 6. That dropped him to 5-under, three shots back.

  • 4:35 p.m. - Rookie Roars

    They say Augusta National requires a lot of experience to properly manage. Nobody managed to pass that along to Ludvig Aberg.

    Playing in his first Masters, Aberg just birdied the 9th hole, and he’s now tied for the lead at 7-under.

  • 4:30 p.m. - Status Check

    We just had back-to-back bireds from Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa in the final pairing.

    Those birdies put them both at 7-under, one shot ahead of Max Homa and Ludvig Aberg, who are playing up the 9th hole right now.

    Phil Mickelson thinks there’s some excitement coming for the final 9.

  • 4:12 p.m. - Scottie Drops One

    Scottie Scheffler just bogeyed the 7th hole (following the Max Homa approach), and suddenly it’s a three-way tie atop the leaderboard.

    Ludvig Aberg and Collin Morikawa are tied on top currently, with Homa one shot back.

  • 4 p.m. - Swapping Spots

    Max Homa and Ludvig Aberg are having differing rounds.

    Aberg is 2-under on his round, and thanks to a birdie on 7, he’s now tied for second, just one shot back.

    Homa just had a bogey on the 7th, right before Aberg’s birdie, and he dropped to 5-under, two shots back in fourth place.

  • 3:45 p.m. - Hello Tyrrell

    Tyrrell Hatton really didn’t have much hope of contending at The Masters as he entered today 3-over.

    But thanks to being the hottest golfer on the course, he’s suddenly in the hunt.

    Hatton has birdies on 2, 6, 10, 12 and 13, and he’s now 2-under and tied for seventh. It might still be a bit too far back to truly contend, but he’s at least making things interesting.

  • 3:25 p.m. - Lead Up to 2

    Scottie Scheffler scrambled his way to pars on the first two holes. But fortunately for him, that’s a good thing.

    A birdie on the third now has Scheffler at 8-under, two shots clear of Max Homa and Collin Morikawa.

    Ludvig Aberg is 1-under on his round through 4, and is three shots back at 5-under overall.

    Behind him Tommy Fleetwood and Bryson DeChambeau are both 3-under (Bryson got one back with a birdie on 5).

    (Our traditional curse could be about to strike. Scheffler has a long par putt on 4. Sorry Scottie.)

  • 3 p.m. - Max's Streak Ends

    A rather bizarre streak finally ended for Max Homa just now on the second hole.

    Homa had failed to birdie a hole for 34 straight holes. And in those 34 holes, he only had one bogey.

    But on the second hole that ended, as he took advantage of the scorable conditions and moved one shot back of Scottie Scheffler at 6-under.

    Bryson DeChambeau on the other hand… he just had another bogey. He’s 2-over today, and 1-under overall. Looks like he’s just going to be chasing a Top 10 finish at this point.

  • 2:35 p.m. - Movement Near the Top

    There’s already some movement near the top of the leaderboard.

    Bryson DeChambeau had a bogey on the first and has dropped to 2-under, in a tie for sixth. Cam Smith is up to fifth now at 3-under alone. Cameron Young and Tommy Fleetwood each have a birdie through the first three holes and are also at 2-under.

    Max Homa got in a bit of trouble on the first, but has recovered nicely to give himself a shot at a birdie. Our final pairing is just off the first tee now, with Scottie Scheffler lasering a drive down the middle of the fairway, and Collin Morikawa following suit with a similar drive.

    Everyone is on the course. Let’s go.

  • 2:25 p.m. - Here. We. Go.

    We’re moments away from the final two groups being on the course. There’s a lot of potential for incredible action this afternoon.

    The course is playing tricky, but there are scores to be had. Cameron Smith is already 2-under through 2 holes, thanks to a hole-out from the sand, and is at 3-under overall.

    An exciting next few hours are ahead of us. Buckle up.

  • 1:40 p.m. - Rahm Drills It

    Defending champion Jon Rahm is obviously not playing The Masters he wanted to. He’s 4-over for the tournament, but he had a nice moment on 7 today. Watch this.

  • 1:30 p.m. - Tiger Signs Off

    For the 100th time, Tiger Woods has completed a round of golf at Augusta National in The Masters.

    This one wasn’t reminiscent of the magical rounds that helped guide him to the five Green Jackets.

    Tiger had a par on 18 this time, and finished his round 5-over, and 16-over for the tournament. That’s likely going to be 60th place, last among those who made the cut.

    But, he made the cut. And he broke a record doing it.

    Who knows how long we have to watch Tiger on this course, so cherish it everyone.

    Amateur Neal Shipley held his own in the pairing with Tiger, finishing a 1-over, 73 round. He’s 12-over and will accept the low-amateur honors this evening.

  • 12:30 p.m. - Big Tom

    Tom Kim has the round of the day going on so far.

    Kim has six birdies (and a bogey) and is 5-under on his round. He also three-putted the eighth hole, so there were more strokes to be gained.

    Unfortunately for Kim, he started the day 11-over, so he’s still just 6-over now, through 12 holes.

  • 12:15 p.m. - Thank You, Verne

    The Masters making us cry. You gotta watch this.

  • 11:25 a.m. - Who Can Win?

    Way back in 1989, Nick Faldo was outside the top 5 going into the final round of the Masters, before he came back to win.

    Every year since then, the winner has been in those final five. That gives us the group we mentioned just a bit ago: Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Ludvig Aberg and Bryson DeChambeau.

    The hasn’t been a ton of movement so far on the board among the lower 25 or so players. Keegan Bradley, Min Woo Lee and Si Woo Kim are all 2-under on their rounds through three holes. Nobody else has gained more than one shot.

    Tiger Woods has lost the most shots on the day, giving back four. He’s currently in a tie for 59th with Vijay Singh.

  • 11:15 a.m. - Looking Up Top

    Brantley Romine summed up the leaderboard perfectly for us as we look ahead to the afternoon with Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Ludvig Aberg and Bryson DeChambeau.

  • 10:50 a.m. - Jason Day Strikes Back

    Jason Day just started his final round of the 2024 Masters. And you’d be forgiven if you perhaps thought he might be purposefully saying something to the team at Augusta National.

    Day is wearing white head to toe today, with his apparel sponsor Malbon elegantly placed on his chest and leave.

    Now, normally that wouldn’t stand out, except that on Friday morning, Masters officials apparently asked Day to ditch his sweater. They did not approve of the busy look, Day told media. He obliged and said he understood how important aesthetics are at Augusta National.

    The Masters - Round One

  • 10:40 a.m. - Tiger Stumbles

    The fifth hole has not been kind to Tiger (or anyone else really) so far today.

    Tiger put his drive out of play, and hit a provisional down the fairway in case they couldn’t find the ball. But upon discovering his original ball, there was no shot to be had, which meant he had to take the dreaded cart ride back up to the tee for another drive.

    He’s wobbled his way around after that, and ended up missing a 6-footer for triple bogey. He’s now 14-over for the tournament.

  • 10:30 a.m. - Augusta Lottery

    There’s a really cool tradition at Augusta National that allows a member of the media to play the course on Monday, if they win a lottery pull.

    This year, Julia Westerman, a TV reporter from Columbia, South Carolina, won that opportunity.

    There’s a catch to this story though, as Westerman has NEVER played a round of golf before. Her first will be playing Augusta National the day after the Masters.

  • 10:15 a.m. - Tricky Third

    The third hole is going to change some lives today. The pin placement in the left corner is about as tricky as it gets.

    Jake Knapp played it about as perfectly as you could for his hole-out from the fairway.

    But for Tiger Woods and Neal Shipley, they both learned the hard way that there’s disaster all over the place with the giant slopes protecting the green. They both bogeyed the hole.

  • 10 a.m. - The Right Direction

    A nice start so far for Tiger Woods, as he had a par on the first and then a nice birdie on 2, after a long eagle putt lost steam.

    For his playing partner amateur Neal Shipley, he had an incredible second shot from off the green that nearly fell in. He also birdied the hole.

    As Tiger sent his eagle attempt up, a roar came from over at the third hole, where Jake Knapp had an incredible eagle hole-out on a difficult approach. Knapp is 3-under on his day through three holes, and 9-over for the tournament.

  • 9:35 a.m. - Tiger's 100th Round

    Look, it obviously hasn’t been the Masters that Tiger Woods would really want. But it’s worth noting that today will be the 100th round Tiger has played in his favorite tournament.

    Tiger just teed off for his final 18, after stumbling to a career-worst round of 82 yesterday. He put his drive down the middle of the fairway for the fourth straight day (this isn’t normal…Tiger hates this tee shot).

    But for some perspective, he’s won this tournament five times. And in the 96 rounds before this week, he averaged 71.10, and made the cut in 24 of the 25 times he’s played here (missing only his second year).

    A stunning 51 of his rounds have been under par here, and he’s won $9.6 million on the course.

    Today, he was out on the range early in his Sunday Red, trying to get loose for his final 18 of the 2024 Masters.

  • 9:15 a.m. - Final Round Underway

    Our final round of the 2024 Masters is underway.

    Adam Hadwin started things off with a perfect drive down the middle of the first fairway.

    Golf legend Vijay Singh followed him with a laser of his own.

    It’s Sunday at the Masters. We’re ready to go!

  • 8:45 a.m. - Notable Tee Times

    Our leaders don’t start today until 2:35 p.m., but there’s a lot of fun groups to watch in the 5-plus hours until we get there.

  • 8:15 a.m. - Final Round Hole Locations

    The powers that be love tormenting golfers with the Sunday pin locations for The Masters. This year is no different.

    There are some enticing, attack-worthy locations on the grid today. But don’t be fooled, make a mistake and it’ll haunt you forever.
