Everyone wants a high-paying job that suits them. The U.S. continues to deal with the ripple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, but key economic indicators have mixed messages about this year’s economy. Commodity.com recently analyzed which states in the U.S. have the most job openings. Over the past two years, job openings have doubled to 7% from 3.5% amid COVID shutdowns in April 2020. Although the overall statistics do not tell the whole story, the hiring outlook varies widely by industry, as with many aspects of the current economy.

During the pandemic, many sectors with the highest job opening rates were the most challenging to work in. Job opening rates are also affected by geographic location.
