Carolina Panthers Player Not Practicing Amid Contract Negotiations
Another practice has gone by with a key Carolina Panthers player not practicing with the team. Panthers’ own, Brian Burns, sat out his second straight practice Monday with no certainty when he will be returning. Two-time Pro Bowl Burns is looking to get a new contract before returning back to practice with the team. With the first regular season game coming up, what does this mean?
Coach Reich is calling the decision to not partake in practice a “personal matter” to the press. Burns is scheduled to make $16 million this season with the Carolina Panthers. But, looks like that might not be enough for him. Burns wants a more long-term deal with the Panthers. Although he has not participated in the last couple of practices, Burns did partake in training camp and offseason workouts.
The first game of the regular season is coming up this Sunday, September 10, so we’ll see what happens as we kick off the season. Hopefully, negotiations get handled soon so that we can have a fully loaded Panthers team for that first game of the season.
