Budweiser Pledges to Change Name of Beer if Tampa Wins Stanley Cup

The Tampa Bay team has the name of a best-selling beer riding on a potential Stanley Cup victory.
Budweiser has pledged to change the name of Bud Light to “Bud Lightning” if the team goes all the way. The 16-ounce cans would be available in the Tampa Bay area for a limited time.
The idea actually came from the team, which on Wednesday posted a video of a Bud Light can make the transformation, writing, “Hey budlight, how about a name change for the playoffs?” It took just four minutes for the beer company to respond, tweeting, “Win it all and we’ll make BudLightning a reality.”
