I’m always one of the last to jump on the latest show or movie trend. So while I have not yet watched it, I know Saltburn is a huge deal. And it actually does seem like something I might be interested in especially when I see the comparisons of Saltburn to one of my favorite places to visit in North Carolina.

According to our friends at SIXT, there has been a 10,951% increase in Google searches for “Saltburn Vacations”. Obviously, the ideal one would be the actual Saltburn mansion in the UK. But that isn’t the type of trip most of us can afford to take on a whim. You’re in luck though there are options to live out your Saltburn fantasies a little closer to home. Because what is better than spending time at a sprawling estate full of luxury and charm?

With that in mind, our friends at SIXT found 5 estates in the U.S. that embrace the same mysterious energy and old money allure that Saltburn provides.

The film Saltburn was written and directed by Academy Award winner Emerald Fennell. It tells the story of a student at Oxford University who becomes immersed in the world of an aristocratic classmate. The student has the opportunity to spend the summer at his new classmate’s family’s sprawling estate. The actual Saltburn mansion called the Drayton House, featured in the film is located in Northamptonshire in the English countryside.

The below 5 mansions offer the same feeling of aristocracy, and wealth depicted in the hit film. And let’s just say the ones I have not visited I am quickly adding to my bucket list. I am all about these destinations. Thanks to our friends at SIXT for their help and for bringing to our attention a way to live out your Saltburn fantasies in North Carolina!

  • Biltmore Estate

Biltmore Estate is one of my favorite places to visit (and I do so almost yearly). Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, the estate which is home to America’s largest private home, was built for George Vanderbilt. You can tour the home, stay in one of two hotels on the property, dine at numerous restaurants, and sample wine at the winery among numerous other activities. The estate often hosts traveling exhibits featuring costumes and props from shows and movies of a similar time, perhaps a Saltburn one in the coming months or years?

  • Swan House

Just a short drive from North Carolina in Atlanta, GA you’ll find the Swan House. It was designed and built in 1928 for Edward and Emily Inman and then opened to the public in 1967 as a house museum. Today it is still open to visitors as well as serves as the headquarters of the Atlanta Historical Society.

  • The Breakers

Newport Rhode Islands is home to The Breakers as well as numerous other Gilded Age Mansions which are part of the famed Newport Mansions. The Breakers is also a Vanderbilt home and is described as the “grandest” of the area homes.

  • Nemours Mansion and Gardens

Wilmington Delaware is home to the Nemours Estate a 77-room Mansion, that features a Chauffeur’s Garage full of vintage automobiles, as well as 200 acres of “French-inspired formal gardens, grounds, and woodlands.” Self-guided tours are offered seasonly of this 105-room country estate.

  • Oheka Castle

Setting Oheka Castle apart from other mansions on this list is the fact that you can actually stay in this one! The Gold Coast Mansion has been converted into a hotel that “emanates the elegant refinement of a chateau in France and a rich history that is distinctly American.” Oheka is part of the Historic Hotels of America and boasts 34 luxurious guestrooms and suites.
