Even if you weren’t a fan of NASCAR, the last lap at the Daytona 500 was hard to watch. 

 

Ryan Newman was involved in one of the most terrifying wrecks in recent memory in the sport of NASCAR. Many people didn’t think he would make it.

 

Thankfully, after being treated at Halifax Medical Center, NASCAR released a statement on Newman’s status:

 

That’s great news, Newman isn’t out of the woods yet but the fact that his injuries aren’t life-threatening, is simply a miracle. Here’s a snapshot of the crash but the video can be seen online just about everywhere.

Ironically, 19 years ago today, Dale Earnhardt was involved in a wreck at Daytona that took his life.
