When it comes to athletics, going to the best schools can set you up for a great future. It's not just about skill, but it's also about the resources that you can get. Whether that is a private school or public school, the right school is always best.  Niche put together a survey asking what high schools were the best schools for high school athletes in America.  The survey came up with the top 25 schools in the country based on statistics and millions of opinions from both students and parents. Out of 100,00 schools that are ranked and surveyed a school in North Carolina ended up in the top 25.  Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh came in at number 11 out of the 25 spots.

Known as one of the top private schools in Raleigh, Cardinal Gibbons is a college preparatory school of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh. With an enrollment of 1,464 students and a yearly tuition of $16,700. Whew, that's big. Cardinal Gibbons ranks number 1 in several categories. They are the "Best High School for Athletes in North Carolina" ranking 1 out of 774, Best Catholic High Schools in North Carolina ranking 1 of 6, and Best College Prep Private High Schools in North Carolina.

Another school in the Charlotte area that was mentioned in this survey but not ranked in the top 25 was the British International School of Charlotte.

The rest of the is mainly private schools (and multiple in Charlotte!) with a couple of public schools mixed in.
