Hungry much? I know I certainly am. We were at work today talking about sandwiches and I realized that I am not a big sandwich person. When it comes to a sandwich, it's really only chicken sandwiches that I like. Not sure why, but when it comes to cold sandwiches just stresses me out a bit. One sandwich is the one that many people really enjoy and it's a BLT sandwich. So many people I know LOVE  good BLT sandwiches and I never understood exactly why.

Taste Atlas named their greatest BLT sandwiches in the world and guess who made the list? Well, South Carolina has two restaurants serving up some of the best BLT sandwiches in the world. Coming in at both #2 and #9 are two different restaurants in South Carolina that many know and love. Their BLTs are must-try sandwiches and will allow you to really indulge in a BLT if you're a fan of them.

First is Ted's Butcherblock coming in as the #2 best BLT sandwich in the world. This sandwich shop is located in Charleston, South Carolina, and has a very famous BLT sandwich. Their Bacon of the Month BLT is your perfect taste tester for a BLT. Each month, a specialty bacon is used to build up this treat. This month, enjoy Broadbent Smokehouse Maplewood bacon, tomato, spring mix, and garlic aioli on a ciabatta roll. Whew, how does that sound? Next up is the #9 spot located in Hilton Head, South Carolina. A Lowcountry Backyard Restaurant in Hilton Head is serving up a Charleston Fried Green Tomato BLT. Enjoy fried South Carolina green tomatoes on grilled flatbread with romaine lettuce, Applewood bacon, ad a homemade ranch dressing. You can also add pimento cheese if you're feeling spicy.

If you're a fan of BLT sandwiches then you may want to check out a few spots in the South Carolina area. Whether you are in Charleston or Hilton Head, you have a few places that would be great to test out soon. I know next time I go home to Charleston, I might have to make a pit stop.

The Commodore is a spot in Brooklyn serving up some tasty chicken options. Their chicken sandwich looks to die for! You can get a hot breast sandwich, mild breast, or grilled chicken club. You can even switch it up and do a chicken biscuit for breakfast. Whew, talk about some great options!

9. Honey Butter Fried Chicken - Chicago, IL

The fact that I am seeing this after visiting Chicago earlier this year makes me want to return ASAP. Honey Butter Fried Chicken located in Chicago and seeing their name lets you know that they must have some great chicken options. Sandwich options include: the original fried chicken sandwich, honey butter fried chicken sandwich, honey buffalo chicken sandwich, and the bubbe fried chicken sandwich. Seriously, how many variations do you need? But we are not mad about this one.

Here comes California entering the conversation now. The Bird located in San Francisco has multiple other locations, but they have some great chicken sandwich options as well. Their fried chicken sandwich option comes classic or spicy and served with celery, house made apple slaw, mayo, and pickles on a fresh baked bun. Sounds about classic and perfect to me, right?
