Doja Cat Brought Back Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza, Taco Bell Confirms
During Doja Cat’s Coachella performance last night (April 18), she announced that one of her favorite items at Taco Bell is making a comeback: the Mexican Pizza. “We finally did it, the Mexican Pizza is coming back,” she wrote on Twitter.
After roughly a two-year hiatus, the beloved menu item will permanently reappear on menus beginning May 19 at $4.49, the chain confirmed on social media Monday. Taco Bell eliminated the pizza in November 2020 as part of a broader culling of its menus during the height of the pandemic that helped fast-food chains shed complexities and costs. The Mexican Pizza consists of a tortilla shell filled with either beans or ground beef, a pizza sauce and is topped with another tortilla shell that’s smothered with more sauce, cheese and chopped tomatoes. Taco Bell introduced the item in 1985 and originally called it the “Pizzazz Pizza.”

Taco Bell announced their partnership with Doja Cat back in February when she starred in the company’s Super Bowl commercial called “The Grande Escape.” Doja Cat and her friends escape from clown college in pursuit of discovering “Live Más” for themselves. Along with the ad, the rapper and singer teamed up with Hole’s Courtney Love to collaborate on a cover of the band’s iconic song, “Celebrity Skin.”
In a TikTok video posted early last month, Doja, 26, told her followers that she had to write a “jingle” about Mexican pizza for Taco Bell, calling it “contractual” and it was very secretive. “Keep this s— a secret i’m not tryna do it so ima make it terrible on purpose,” she wrote over her video. “I gotta do this f—-in’ TikTok and everybody keeps calling it a jingle, it’s for Taco Bell,” she said, “They want me to rap about Mexican Pizza so I just wanna give you a heads up before you see that s—, just know, it’s contractual. I know it’s bad.”
