Well, this new North Carolina southern comfort restaurant is set to open and it looks incredible. I haven’t been in to taste test but I will just as soon as I can.

According to the Charlotte Business Journal, restaurateur Kevin Kelly thinks his new spot in Charlotte will feature “America’s Greatest Comfort Food”. Kitchen+Kocktails is expected to open June 1 in the Queen City. And reservations for day one are already full. He tells our source, the Charlotte Business Journal, “It’s a big statement. It’s a bold statement and it’s one that I believe Charlotte will come to accept,” Not only is day one all booked up but the following days are pretty close to booked up as well.

Looks like a great location and it is expansive at 3500 square feet. You can find it in the old Epicentre now named Queen City Quarter. Kelly is not just a restaurant owner/operator but he is also a lawyer by trade. And he says he felt there was a void in the market for the kind of southern comfort food he plans to deliver. This might not be your ordinary friend chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy place. It plans to offer upscale Southern Comfort food. Here’s what we are talking about.
According to the Charlotte Business Journal, here’s what you can expect. “There’s 50-plus combinations, with the best-selling Southern Fried Hot Honey Chicken joined on the menu by a variety of waffles. Think traditional, banana pudding, butter pecan and peach cobbler. There’s also Southern fried catfish, Caribbean Jerk Lamb chops and Kajun Kream Pasta”. Well, alrighty then. And don’t get me started on the mouth watering apps. Now Kevin, if you are reading this, I would of course have to fully disclose but I am willing to do some taste testing. You know, just to make sure you are getting it right;)
