Candy Corn Bratwurst Is A Real Thing
The candy corn bratwurst business is booming in Wisconsin. Two Wisconsin butchers made up the treat that is not a trick when it comes to taste.
According to TODAY, “It’s just your traditional brat,” Justin Strassman, who’s worked with Wil Hetzel behind the butcher’s counter at the market for six years. But we use an Oktoberfest beer in there, so there’s that caramel sweetness. We usually make the traditional brat, and we thought to change it up with candy corn.”
When asked how the season treat came about the butchers say it was “just a trip to the grocery store and it clicked.” Everyone who has tried the treats says the meat and candy mix was “honestly delicious.” I think honestly, I would try this.
Each batch of brats churns out about 120 of the links. This includes 25 pounds of brat meat, three cans of Wisconsin’s Lake Louie Brewing Oktoberfest beer, and two bags of candy corn. Holy crap. They sell for $4.99 a pound. Pretty awesome deal.
