Ja Morant’s Last Second Shot Lifts Griz Over Hornets
In a back and forth game between two teams hungry for a win, it was the Ja Morant Show with the Grizzlies coming out on top.
Terry Rozier had his best game as a member of the Charlotte Hornets, finishing with 33 points 5 rebounds and 6 assists while shooting 7/12 from beyond the arc. It wasn’t enough though, as Ja Morant took over this game down the stretch finishing with 23 points on 10-15 shooting, 11 assists and a game-winning layup with .7 seconds left.

This has been an issue in nearly every game this season. The Hornets were outrebounded 45 to 35 and allowed a staggering 58 points in the paint. The fact that the Hornets had a chance to win this game or go into OT, is pretty amazing. Cody Zeller had a solid night but the Hornets continue to struggle with him off the floor.
Backcourt Struggles On The Defensive End

Devante Graham continues to light it up for Charlotte as he finished with 19 points and 4 assists tonight, getting the start for an injured Dwayne Bacon. The guard play was good tonight on the offensive end of the floor but had no answer on defense for Morant, who looked more like a seasoned vet rather than a rookie 11 games into his professional career. Charlotte tried to alternate between Rozier, Graham, and Monk when defending Morant, nothing worked.
So Close
Charlotte overcame a 10 point deficit late in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 117 on a Devante Graham three. But Morant held on the ball for the last shot, drove in the lane and put up a shot going up against three defenders. Ja Morant has arrived ladies and gentlemen.
The Hornets will look to get back on track as they face off against the Detroit Pistons on Friday.
